A structured Qur’anic studies course designed to facilitate deep engagement with the Sab’ Tiwal through the framework of Maqasid al-Qur’an. This programme integrates Qur’anic scholarship, ethical reasoning, and reflective analysis to develop a principled and contemporary understanding of revelation.

Course Objectives

The programme is designed to strengthen analytical engagement with the Qur’an while cultivating spiritually grounded and ethically conscious participants.

IIUM Students & IIUM Staff

Physical: RM50 Commitment Fee Online: RM50 Course Fee
The first 50 IIUM students and staff who register for physical attendance are eligible for complimentary course registration, subject to the refund conditions stated below. The RM50 Commitment Fee is required to confirm participation and encourage consistent attendance throughout the programme.
✅ Physical Participants The RM50 Commitment Fee is refundable only for the first 50 IIUM students and staff attending physically at IIUM, provided that they achieve at least 80% in-person attendance throughout the programme.
🌐 Online Participants Online IIUM students and staff are required to pay a RM50 Course Fee to confirm their registration. This fee is non-refundable, and online attendance will not be counted towards the physical attendance refund requirement.

Refund Policy for Physical IIUM Students & Staff Only The RM50 Commitment Fee is refundable only to the first 50 IIUM students and staff who attend the programme physically and achieve at least 80% in-person attendance throughout the course. Online attendance will not be counted towards this requirement. After the course has concluded, the organising committee will review all attendance records. Participants who meet the eligibility criteria will be contacted and requested to provide their bank account details for the refund process.

Read Along With Tafsir Maqasidi

Participants will receive the English translation of the Tafsir of each of the Seven Long Surahs, taken from Prof. Dr. Jasser Auda’s own “Tafsir Maqasidi”, so they can follow along with the explanation throughout the course.

Materials will be shared progressively as each surah is covered in the lecture schedule.

Note: Session 16 (11 Jan) falls on a Monday and Session 17 (13 Jan) falls on a Wednesday; all other sessions are held on Tuesdays. All times are stated in Malaysia Time (MYT). Two optional assessments are offered – one during the mid-semester break (Session 9) and one at the end of the course (Session 17) – and participants are encouraged to complete the reading materials beforehand.
