Summary of the programme:
The workshop Syukur: Finding Barakah in Every Moment was successfully held on 11 April 2026 with 62 participants in attendance including IPG students form Nadi Huffaz Club. The program aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the role of syukur in the purification of the heart, highlighting how gratitude acts as a spiritual cleanser that protects the qalb from diseases such as envy and arrogance while fostering inner peace and spiritual “hygiene” in daily life. The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of syukur (gratitude) as a transformative spiritual practice, while reflecting on its role in achieving inner peace (itmi’nan) and purifying the heart (qalb).
The programme featured a talk by the invited speaker, Prof. Dr. Radwan Jamal, who elaborated on the concept of syukur (gratitude) as a core spiritual practice in Islam. He explained how gratitude functions as a means of purifying the heart (qalb), protecting it from diseases such as envy and arrogance, and guiding individuals towards inner peace (itmi’nan). The session also highlighted the importance of shifting one’s mindset from worldly dissatisfaction to contentment by recognizing and appreciating Allah’s countless blessings. This was followed by a Q&A session, during which participants had the opportunity to reflect on the topic, ask questions, and relate the concept of syukur to their personal lives, academic challenges, and leadership journeys.
Overall, the program was well-received and successfully achieved its objective, with many participants expressing interest in more similar or extended sessions in the future. Jazakumullahu kheyr to everyone involved!
