Summary of the programme:
The programme Empowering Leadership for Tomorrow (Part 3) was successfully held on 9 January 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Kulliyah of Engineering, from 8.30am to 12.30pm, with 22 members of HLP Gombak in attendance. The programme aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of Islamic leadership and decision-making through the SHURĀ-MIND framework, encouraging them to practise shūrā, ethical judgement, and spiritual reliance when addressing real challenges as student leaders. It also provided participants with the opportunity to reflect on leadership as an amanah and to develop clarity, wisdom, and purpose in their roles.
The programme featured a talk by the invited speaker, Prof. Dr. Nurul Fadzlin Binti Hasbullah, Head of the Huffaz Leadership Programme, who explained the SHURĀ-MIND framework as a structured, faith-based approach combining critical and creative thinking with Islamic values through seven key steps, including identifying real issues, gathering truthful information, engaging in shūrā, weighing maslaḥah and mafsadah, and concluding decisions with istikhārah and tawakkul. This was followed by interactive activities and discussions, during which participants had the opportunity to share their thoughts and connect the topic to their own leadership experiences.
Overall, the programme successfully achieved its objectives and received positive responses from participants. May Allah reward all parties involved for their contributions.
