Summary of the programme:
The 2nd HLP Takrim Ceremony was successfully held on Friday, 31 October 2025, at ISTAC-IIUM, beginning with participants gathering at the Main Staircase, IIUM, before departing for the venue. Upon arrival, participants were given the unique opportunity to tour several important areas, including the Banquet Hall, Masjid Zabedah, and the ISTAC Library Special Collection. This special section, normally closed to the public, houses rare manuscripts and historical artefacts, including the works of Tan Sri Professor Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas. The visit provided participants with meaningful insights into the intellectual heritage and scholarly legacy of the Muslim world.
Following Jumu‘ah and Zuhr prayers, the Takrim Ceremony commenced, celebrating the achievements of graduating HLP members. In his inspiring address, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan bin Noordin, Deputy Rector (SDCE), reminded participants of the immense blessing of being a Hafiz al-Qur’an. He emphasized that memorization alone is not sufficient; the true essence of Hifz lies in practicing the Qur’an and embodying its guidance in leadership and daily life. He encouraged the graduates to uphold amar ma‘ruf (enjoining good) and nahi munkar (forbidding evil), and to serve as role models in their communities through knowledge, integrity, and Qur’anic leadership.
The ceremony concluded with a photography session and ‘Asr prayers, creating a memorable celebration that honored the graduates’ dedication and achievements. The event also served as a source of inspiration for current HLP participants, reinforcing their motivation to continue striving in their own journeys of Qur’anic memorization and leadership.
The graduating HLP members were Abdul Bashir Bin Mohd Alwi, Razin Sabiq Bin Mohd Fariz, and Irfan Syafi Bin Zubir Shah, all from the Kulliyyah of Engineering. Congratulations to the graduating HLP members! May you continue your journey guided by the Qur’an, becoming leaders who contribute positively to the ummah through knowledge, service, and integrity.
The Takrim Ceremony successfully fulfilled its objectives of recognizing the efforts of Huffaz graduates, celebrating their achievements, and strengthening the spirit of Qur’anic leadership among students. It stands as a reminder that the journey of a Huffaz does not end with memorization, but continues through practicing the Qur’an and embodying its guidance in all aspects of life.
Jazakumullahu khayran to everyone who contributed to the success of the program!
