The Jerayawara Kesedaran Isu Sosial (J-KIS) 2025 was successfully held on 30th July 2025 / 4 Safar 1447H at the Multipurpose Hall, Federal Territory Mosque, Kuala Lumpur. The program was organised by Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) in collaboration with various strategic partners including the Ministry of Education Malaysia, Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP), YAPEIM, Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP, and several higher learning institutions. Notably, the Huffaz Sejahtera Leadership Program (HSLP) of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) served as part of the organising committee, playing a vital role in supporting the planning, coordination, and smooth execution of the program.
The event gathered more than 800 participants consisting of secondary school students and university students across the Klang Valley. It commenced in the morning with welcoming remarks and Qur’an recitation, followed by the official launching ceremony officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Hj. Mohd Na’im bin Hj. Mokhtar, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs). In his speech, he emphasized the importance of equipping the younger generation with resilience, integrity, and strong values in facing contemporary social challenges.
The program highlight was a series of engaging knowledge-sharing sessions by distinguished speakers. Ustaz Muhammad Asyraf Saifuddin (UniKL) spoke on youth mental health in his talk “Jiwa Kacau: Kongsi atau Pendam?”, encouraging open discussions to overcome stigma. Dr. Shamsul Azhar Yahya (YAPEIM) followed with “Mengurus Medsos”, addressing ethical social media use and its impact on personal growth. Akhi Fairuz Al-Jengkawi (MFA Smart Training & Consultancy) then tackled “Anda, Dakwah & LGBT”, providing Islamic perspectives on LGBTQ challenges and raising awareness on sexual grooming, with his interactive delivery drawing strong audience participation.
Moreover, the program also incorporated interactive quizzes and exhibitions from partner agencies, which enriched participants with practical exposure to support systems and community services. Overall, the J-KIS 2025 program achieved its main objectives of raising awareness on critical social issues, nurturing intellectual and moral resilience among youth, and instilling Islamic values in line with the vision of Islam Mekar and Malaysia MADANI. The active involvement of the Huffaz Sejahtera Leadership Program (HSLP) as part of the organising committee was instrumental in ensuring the program’s smooth and successful implementation.
