Summary of the programme:
On 26th April 2025, Huffaz Sejahtera Leadership Programme (HSLP) from IIUM, in collaboration with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), IKRAM Kuala Lumpur, and Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Islam Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, successfully organized a talk program titled Daurah Fiqh Wanita Bersama Ibu Tunggal. The program received an encouraging response, with over 30 participants attending the talk.
The program aimed to provide single mothers with knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence relevant to their lives and foster a supportive community.
The program starts at 8 a.m. with breakfast provided by JAWI, followed by the talk session by Ustazah Sofiah with the title “Pemantapan Akidah dari Perspektif Al-Quran”. Next, a dedicated Q&A segment allowed attendees to engage directly with the speaker, reflecting strong interest and enthusiasm for the scheme. Lastly, a photography session was held, and the program ended with lunch provided by JAWI. During the lunch session, the student committees from HSLP help the single mothers to fill in demographic forms provided by HSLP to use them for university reporting purposes.
The feedback received from participants was highly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the clarity and comprehensiveness of the session. Attendees appreciated the speaker, Ustazah Sofiah, for her in-depth explanation of the discussed topic.
Several participants highlighted how the program answered their key questions, helped them understand fiqh better, and strengthened their faith in Allah. Many participants also expressed their eagerness to participate in similar sessions in the future, underscoring the value they placed on such informative events.
Participants shared positive feedback, describing the program as encouraging and beneficial. Some of their comments include:
- “This program is good for us old people because we can learn religion appropriately now, since we cannot do it when we were young. ” – “Best program, I always want to learn from a good ustazah”
- “ I really like programs with young people like all of you.”
